Hedonism 2.0: Germany's electro pop innovation is called "Muttersöhnchen"
Harry Bum Tschak and MK TopGenie - 2 freaked out guys in glittering golden and silvery suits. Together they call themselves "Muttersöhnchen".
Their music style can be described as electro pop - so groovy and funky that you just feel like dancing but still enjoy listening to their lyrics as well. Their single "Essen geh'n" (engl: Going out to eat) describes their perfect Saturday night full of fun. Their appeal is to go out and have the time of your life - and please forget that eating and drinking and having fun is not the most important thing in life. At least forget it on a Saturday night! Anyway, don't take them too seriously, neither do they!
Their debut album "1" was released on September 30, 2011.
Check out their website and listen to a few samples from their new album. http://www.muttersoehnchen.net/Start.html

Vasco Rossi - Italy's Scandalous Rock Legend
Vasco Rossi, born in 1952, is in icon and a legend or Italian rock and pop music. He has published 25 albums and written more than 150 songs. Througout his career there has often been great controversy about some of his lyrics and also about his lifestyle. The title track of his most controversial album "Colpa d'Alfredo" (english "Alfredo's fault"), released in 1980, was censored from the radio because it contained lyrics that were considered to be too explicit at that time. At the Sanremo Festival in 1982 and 1983 he finished last and second last place because of harsh criticism and his apparent state of intoxication at the latter festival. Despite criticism, his controversy in fact only increased his popularity and he became an idol for the new generation in the eighties.
On this week's Italian single chart of October 2, 2011 he is number 5, down from last week's number 3, with his song "I Soliti".

The title track's lyrics from Rossi's 1983 album "Bollicine" are about coke, but also relate to cocaine.

Giorgia Todrani
Giorgia Todrani, best known as Giorgia, stands for Italian music at its best. With her soulful voice she is clearly one of Italy's best female voices and also one of the most famous Italian singers. Up to today she has released 16 albums. Her musical influences being Jazz and Soul, she started to perform at Jazz clubs in her Roman home town at a young age. She began to become famous in Italy after the 1994 Sanremo Music Festival, where she became 7th in the final "new act" chart with her song "E Poi". Her following 1994 debut album "Giorgia" became a bestseller in Italy and was certified 2 times platinum. Shortly after, she was asked by Luciano Pavarotti to perform with him in a duet at the annual "Pavarotti & Friends Show". In the same year she won the European Award as "best young Italian artist". During her career she also sang duets with artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Ronan Keating, Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock and she was the only Italian artist to have sung with Elton John. It seems to be her destiny that the Sanremo Music Festival played a very important role throughout the course of her career. She returned to the festival several times, always ending in high places and even winning the competition and the critics' award in 1995. As if all her successful participations at the Sanremo Musi Festival wouldn't already be enough, it was announced on the thrid night of the 2010 edidtion of the festival that she had given birth to her son Samuel.
